About

This site was a long time in the making. Not because it took forever to write, or produce. It started in other forms before it came to this. I debated whether to even do this: whether the act of documenting what happens when you live your life everywhere actually stops you from living your life everywhere.

But I decided to make it anyway, because the best moments and experiences in life are supposed to be shared. If you don’t share them, then you take them to the grave and they disintegrate with you and that’s not very cool. Too many times I felt I was creating stories without sharing the stories. So I’m sharing the stories with you, and I hope you enjoy them.

I think it’s fairly clear that there are a lot of people in the space of documenting their travels around the world. I’m not the person that will painstakingly tell you how to maximise your credit cards to get the best first class meal from Lagos to London (although I know a bit) or how to move to India and find yourself in the midst of a profound yoga position – in fact if I did find myself in that position the first thing I would be asking is how to get out of it! There are a lot of other sites for doing those things around the internet.

What I want to share are more human stories. Great memories and great moments don’t come from a checklist or a search window, they come from talking to people and connecting with people and seeing what they’re up to, where they go, what they eat, what they do and see and the experiences that they have. When you share those stories and moments they will become bigger. Maybe I will use points or find myself along the way, but those things are in the sauce, and you came here for the steak.

The Misty Seas

It’s kind of a funny name in a way, because like most people I get there most of the time in a plane, and almost obsessively. But usually at the misty seas you find good people. In the misty seas you can’t see the end of the world, it keeps going, and probably you feel that there’s more out there. And this song:

To the islands, the black kites, the wishing tree
I wanna be with you
On a slow boat to Lantao, the misty seas
I wanna be with you

Basically.
